healing and awakening through the arts

Expressive Arts Therapy, Training and consultaton

Creative Consultation

"This process helps me be more open to moments of discovery with my clients" ~ M. C.

Adrienne Cress, LCMHC, REAT

What past participants are saying:

“Loved the encounters. Having time to play was great. I also enjoyed using one case example to walk through the nuts n’ bolts of the work”

“Loved the experiential component – great to actually do it myself before trying them with clients”

While many know that traditional talk therapy is not the only way to meet your client’s needs and that the arts invite deeper insight and meaning for clients, yet many don’t yet feel comfortable or skilled enough to implement creative interventions. In this workshop you’ll practice and learn what you need to confidently bring the arts into your therapeutic work.

Whether you are looking for ways to introduce arts-based interventions into your therapeutic work or to enrich your current arts-based practice, this consultation group offers the unique approach that you may be aiming for as a therapist. Theoretically based in Expressive Arts Therapies, we present you with a new perspective from which to understand your cases. Using the same multi-modal approach we employ with our clients, we offer an experiential learning environment wherein you can gain a first-hand experience of the powerful impact of the arts. Participants present case material as well as the stressors of clinical practice (i.e. countertransference, self-care). We may explore a family’s dynamics with clay, a couple’s relationship through movement, an individual’s inner experience in a sand tray or a therapist’s clinical challenges through drama.

This monthly group is intended for professional therapists active in their fields.  No art experience necessary. For more information or to register please contact Adrienne directly
